Luma 40/Cary5000

The Luma 40/Cary 5000 has four optical ports around the cuvette. Use it for absorbance measurements when your experiment requires access at 90 degrees for photochemical activation. The Luma 40/Cary5000 is a versatile design that is used in the Cary 4000, 5000 and 6000i UV/Vis/NIR Spectrophotometers. Purchase the extended temperature option and run the Luma 40/Cary5000 up to 150 °C for non-aqueous samples. Add a Windowed Jacket, purge with dry gas and run the temperature down to at least -40 °C. The Luma 40 is also ideal for work in the biological range of 0 °C to 110 °C. Use it to observe absorbance spectra at precisely maintained temperatures, or for temperature ramping, to observe how absorbance changes with temperature. Two options are available for bringing utilities (tubes and wires) out of the sample compartment. For laboratories that have the Agilent extended “nose” assembly, we can provide a simple access plate that mounts below the nose. Otherwise, you may purchase our PANEL/5000 option, which permits connections of the front of the spectrophotometer. Operate the TC 1/Single Temperature Controller using the menu button or control via program T-App. Use an ADL program for temperature ramping with WinUV ADL Shell software.
