qpod 2e (discontinued)
qpod 2e: temperature-controlled sample compartment with internal temperature controller provided without opticsThe qpod 2e is a compact spectrometer sample compartment containing a cuvette holder temperature controlled by an internal controller. The qpod 2e is a roughly square box about 120 mm on a side and 90 mm high. In the center is a temperature-controlled tower with optical ports on each of four sides and slit holders to control optical access. For mounting optical components, each of the four sides of the qpod has a mounting ring, thermally stable and precisely aligned with the tower. Add light sources, lenses, filters, polarizers, mirrors, spectrographs and detectors as needed for your experiment. Most applications of the qpod take advantage of fiber optics for transmitting light, but lasers, focused light sources and probes of various kinds may be used. A dry gas purge of the compartment enables easy use at low temperatures down to -30 °C. The qpod 2e readily achieves a high temperature of +110 °C. Operate the qpod 2e on a lab bench or build it into your own full spectroscopy system. For computer control, use program Q-Blue, provided at no charge, or write your own program utilizing simple text commands for control.
