This compact unit ensures exceptional thermal stability, maintaining sample temperatures with minimal fluctuation.
Operating between -45 °C and 80 °C, the qMC 16 features one of Quantum Northwest’s most advanced thermoelectric temperature control systems. Its design incorporates key elements from the Brr series, optimizing low-temperature performance. A heat exchanger with circulating coolant ensures precise thermal regulation, while inert gas purging at lower temperatures helps maintain optical clarity and improve insulation. Though capable of reaching higher temperatures, the unit is limited to 80 °C based on industry recommendations to prevent tube deformation. Like all Quantum Northwest sample holders, the qMC 16 provides unsurpassed temperature control, ensuring stable hold temperatures within a fraction of a degree.
Control is straightforward using the TC-1 Temperature Controller, included with purchase. Users can set temperatures, and ramp rates via the TC-1’s front panel or through T-App, Quantum Northwest’s optional control software, which provides features like real-time plotting, scripting, and direct sample temperature measurement when paired with the optional Probe/10K sensor. Even without T-App, the TC-1 display provides a direct readout of the sample temperature when using the Probe/10K.
