Absorbance, Circular Dichroism, FluorescenceThe Turret 6 is a six-position, rotating, temperature-controlled cuvette holder designed for fluorescence and absorbance measurements. Each cuvette position features three optical ports, enabling 180° and 90° beam paths, except for the Turret 6/Evo, which is optimized for absorbance only. The rotating turret allows seamless switching between cuvettes mid-experiment while maintaining consistent temperature across all six cells. Integrated stirring ensures uniform mixing when required. Additionally, lens options are available for laser spectroscopy applications using standard SMA 905 connections.
Operating from -15 °C to 110 °C, the Turret 6 delivers precise thermal stability using thermoelectric temperature control and a water-cooled heat exchanger. To prevent condensation and maintain optical clarity at lower temperatures, inert dry gas flow is recommended. Failure to use gas at these temperatures may result in condensation, affecting readings and potentially damaging internal components. Like all Quantum Northwest sample holders, the Turret 6 provides unsurpassed temperature control, ensuring stable hold temperatures within a fraction of a degree.
Control is simple with the TC-1 Temperature Controller, included with purchase. Users can set temperatures, stirring speeds, and ramp rates via the TC-1’s front panel or through T-App, Quantum Northwest’s optional control software. T-App provides features such as real-time plotting, scripting, and direct sample temperature measurement when paired with the Probe/10K sensor. Even without T-App, the TC-1 display provides a direct readout of the sample temperature when using the Probe/10K.
The Turret 6 integrates with a wide range of spectrophotometers. The standard model mounts easily to both imperial and metric optical breadboards, with additional models available for specific instruments.
