AbsorbanceThe Brr 20 is a powerful, temperature-controlled cuvette holder designed for low-temperature applications. Made for absorbance measurements, it features dual optical ports in a 180° beam path and accommodates standard 10 mm square cuvettes, with options for slimmer cuvettes using Quantum Northwest’s thermal conductive adapters.
Operating between -55 °C and 150 °C, the Brr 20 features the most powerful thermoelectric temperature control system Quantum Northwest has developed, refined from previous generations for superior performance. Paired with a heat exchanger and circulating coolant, it ensures precise thermal stability. The unit also supports sample stirring at a steady, reproducible rate and allows for inert gas purging at lower temperatures to maintain optical clarity and improve insulation.
Engineered to push the limits of low-temperature control, the Brr 20 is built with robust internals that also withstand extreme heat, offering the widest temperature range of any Quantum Northwest holder straight out of the box—no additional upgrades required. With an impressive 205 °C operating range, it delivers unmatched thermal versatility for demanding spectroscopy experiments. Like all Quantum Northwest sample holders, the Brr 20 provides unsurpassed temperature control, ensuring stable hold temperatures within a fraction of a degree.
Control is straightforward using the TC-1 Temperature Controller, included with purchase. Users can set temperatures, stirring speeds, and ramp rates via the TC-1’s front panel or through T-App, Quantum Northwest’s optional control software, which provides features like real-time plotting, scripting, and direct sample temperature measurement when paired with the optional Probe/10K sensor. Even without T-App, the TC-1 display provides a direct readout of the sample temperature when using the Probe/10K.
The Brr 20 integrates with a wide range of spectrophotometers. The standard model mounts easily to both imperial and metric optical breadboards, with additional models available for specific instruments.
