AbsorbanceThe qChanger 6 is a six-position, rapid-sliding, temperature-controlled cuvette holder designed for absorbance measurements. Each cuvette position features two optical ports, allowing 180° beam paths for precise optical alignment. The sliding assembly enables smooth transitions between cuvettes mid-experiment while ensuring consistent temperature across all six cells. Integrated stirring provides uniform mixing when required.
Operating from -15 °C to 110 °C, the qChanger 6 delivers exceptional thermal stability using thermoelectric temperature control and a water-cooled heat exchanger. To prevent condensation and maintain optical clarity at lower temperatures, inert dry gas flow is recommended. Failure to use gas at these temperatures may result in condensation, affecting measurements and potentially damaging internal components. Like all Quantum Northwest sample holders, the qChanger 6 provides unsurpassed temperature control, ensuring stable hold temperatures within a fraction of a degree.
Control is straightforward with the TC-1 Temperature Controller, included with purchase. Users can set temperatures, stirring speeds, and ramp rates via the TC-1’s front panel or through T-App, Quantum Northwest’s optional control software. T-App provides features such as real-time plotting, scripting, and direct sample temperature measurement when paired with the Probe/10K sensor. Even without T-App, the TC-1 display provides a direct readout of the sample temperature when using the Probe/10K.
The qChanger 6 integrates with a wide range of spectrophotometers. The standard model mounts easily to both imperial and metric optical breadboards, with additional models available for specific instruments.
