The qPod is a precision-engineered, temperature-controlled cuvette holder designed for fiber optic spectroscopy. It features four optical ports, each positioned at a 90° beam path from the others, housed within a self-enclosed, light-tight chamber. External laser lens apparatuses can be attached to the enclosure, with lenses designed to connect to fiber optic spectroscopy instruments via standard 905 SMA connections. Available lens options include an absorption pack, a fluorescence pack, or a multipack containing both.

Operating between -35 °C and 110 °C, the qpod ensures precise thermal stability through a Peltier-based heat exchanger with circulating coolant. It supports sample stirring at a steady, reproducible rate and allows for controlled gas purging needed at lower temperatures to maintain optical clarity and improve insulation. Whether for stable-temperature spectroscopy or temperature ramping experiments, the qpod delivers reliable performance.

For extended temperature capabilities, a high-temperature option enables operation up to 150 °C but must be selected at the time of purchase due to key internal modifications. Selecting the high-temperature option provides an impressive 185 °C range, making the qpod adaptable to even the most demanding experiments. Like all Quantum Northwest sample holders, the qpod provides unsurpassed temperature control, ensuring stable hold temperatures within a fraction of a degree.

Control is straightforward using the TC-1 Temperature Controller, included with purchase. Users can set temperatures, stirring speeds, and ramp rates via the TC-1’s front panel or through T-App, Quantum Northwest’s optional control software, which provides features like real-time plotting, scripting, and direct sample temperature measurement when paired with the optional Probe/10K sensor. Even without T-App, the TC-1 display provides a direct readout of the sample temperature when using the Probe/10K.

The qpod comes in one standard model that mounts easily to both imperial and metric optical breadboards. The available configurations differ only in the included lens package—absorption, fluorescence, or a multipack containing both. If you’re unsure whether the qpod suits your application or have specific requirements, contact us for guidance or to explore customization options.

With its unique four-port design, light-tight enclosure, and seamless integration with fiber optic spectroscopy systems, the qpod provides precise temperature control for high-performance optical measurements.

*The holder's temperature performance depends on the operating environment and setup conditions, which must support proper heat dissipation and condensation reduction. While the listed temperatures are consistently achieved during testing, they are not guaranteed in all environments or setups. Meeting the ideal setup conditions outlined in the product's manual is necessary to achieve specific temperature stages.

**The extended range applies only when all corresponding High or Low customization options are implemented. The higher limit is extended by the High Limit package option, and the lower limit is extended by the Low Limit package option.
